Overview​

While Revit lacks efficient tools for copying complex content between projects (requiring manual recreation of view templates, schedules, legends, and sheets), this tool addresses that limitation by providing automated cross-project transfer with selective content control and update capabilities. This enables rapid copying of views, schedules, legends, view templates, and complete sheets between projects with preservation of layout positioning, significantly reducing time spent on repetitive setup tasks that are fundamental to project coordination and standardization workflows.

Understanding Standard vs. Enhanced Cross-Project Transfer​

  1. Standard Revit Cross-Project Workflow:
    • Manual Recreation: Recreate view templates, schedules, and legends individually in each project
    • No Direct Sheet Copying: Cannot copy complete sheets with layout and content preservation
    • Update Challenges: No efficient method to update content across multiple projects
    • Time-Intensive Process: Repetitive setup for each project requiring standardized content

Basic Cross-Project Transfer Workflow​

  1. Navigate to NonicaTab Pro → Copy To Projects.
  2. Category Selection: Choose content category for transfer:
    • Views: Transfer model views like Floorplans, Sections or Elevations
    • Drafting Views: Transfer annotation-based views and details
    • Schedules: Copy material, door, window, and custom schedules
    • Legends: Transfer filter legends, material legends, and annotation legends
    • View Templates: Copy standardized view templates with all settings
    • Sheets: Transfer complete sheet layouts with viewports and annotations
  3. Content Selection: Choose specific type of elements to include/exclude when transfering sheets
  4. Target Project Selection: Choose destination project for content transfer

FAQ​

Standard Revit copy/paste can't handle complex elements like view templates, complete sheets, or model views. This tool provides direct project-to-project transfer with selective content control and format preservation that isn't possible with standard Revit tools.

Creating new content generates additional elements in the destination project, while updating overrides the existing content in place. Update mode is useful for synchronizing changes across projects while avoiding duplicate elements and maintaining existing references.

When copying sheets, if required model views don't exist in the destination project (or are placed in another sheets), the tool copies the views to the destination project. This provides references for future view creation while maintaining the sheet layout structure.
